I started tennis again at the age of 36 after a 15 year break. I went to Ivan for coaching for almost 2 years. During that time he taught me in such a way that I’d never been taught before. I’d never heard of the word biomechanics which is the modern way of coaching tennis. Not only did he help me technically but also tactically and mentally. My TSA ranking improved to number 1 in sa for my age group. More than that, Ivan helped me find the love for tennis again.

 lived in Joburg for 4 wonderful years, and the best discovery we made was the tennis community at the Bryanston Country Club, led by Coach Ivan. His one-on-one and team coaching sessions were second to none – every lesson and training well thought out, productive and fun. He single-handedly built the tennis section in to a vibrant community with both male and female teams. He encouraged me at age 50 to compete in tennis leagues for the first time in my life, and I loved it. Ivan organised regular social tennis sessions, ensuring that everyone got to play at a level best suited to their ability. Definitely a high-light of my life in South Africa.
