I’ve known Ivan since I was 16 years old. In 2014, we decided to work together with him being my Coach, and I am still currently being coached by him.

From a technical standpoint, he has completely transformed my game. I now view tennis in a way that I never did before, and I have become a better player every day thanks to Ivan’s insights.

Ivan has an incredible passion for tennis, which is evident in his coaching style. No lesson is ever the same, and his patience and ability to understand each player’s needs are truly unique.

I started tennis again at the age of 36 after a 15 year break. I went to Ivan for coaching for almost 2 years. During that time he taught me in such a way that I’d never been taught before. I’d never heard of the word biomechanics which is the modern way of coaching tennis. Not only did he help me technically but also tactically and mentally. My TSA ranking improved to number 1 in SA for my age group. More than that, Ivan helped me find the love for tennis again.

I lived in Joburg for four wonderful years, and one of the best discoveries we made was the tennis community at the Bryanston Country Club, led by Coach Ivan. His individual coaching sessions and team training were exceptional—every lesson was well thought out, productive, and enjoyable. Ivan single-handedly built the tennis section into a vibrant community with both male and female teams. At the age of 50, he encouraged me to compete in tennis leagues for the first time in my life, and I absolutely loved it. Ivan also organized regular social tennis sessions, ensuring that everyone played at a level suited to their ability. This experience was definitely one of the highlights of my life in South Africa.
